SoftWave Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses low-intensity acoustic (sound) waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing and repair mechanisms. These sound waves are delivered through a handheld applicator and travel safely through the skin to reach injured or painful tissue—without needles, medication, or surgery.
When the acoustic waves enter the tissue, they create a mechanical signal that increases circulation, reduces inflammation, and activates the body’s regenerative response at a cellular level. What to Expect During Your SoftWave Session
Your first visit takes about 30–45 minutes and includes a brief consultation so Dr. Ito can identify the right treatment area.
During the treatment itself:
A small amount of gel is applied to the skin — similar to getting an ultrasound
A handheld applicator delivers gentle acoustic pulses to the area
Most patients feel mild pressure or a light tapping sensation — it is not painful
The treatment portion takes approximately 10–15 minutes
There is no downtime — you can return to normal activity the same day
